Robert Conreux

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our loved one, Robert “Bob” W. Conreux, 77 years old.  Bob passed on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 11:00 pm. He was born in St Louis, MO on August 27, 1946 to Oliver & Betty Conreux. He grew up in Fosterburg, IL, and graduated from Alton High School. Bob worked for Sears doing refrigeration/HVAC service maintenance in the Alton and St Louis area. Bob joined the Plumbers & Pipefitters 553 in 1984 and worked for GRP Mechanical until his retirement in the fall of 2012.  During Bob’s lifetime he made numerous lifelong friends.  Bob loved life and was the most positive and kind person.  Bob was always willing to share his knowledge, and lend a hand with family, friends and neighbors. Bob was his family’s biggest cheerleader (There is no such word as “can’t”) and wanted nothing but the best for all of them. Bob will be greatly missed. Surviving are his wife, Sherry Conreux, children: Tamara (Jon) Jones, Trisha Perks, Angela Capps (Joe) Buffa and Michael Capps. Also surviving are grandchildren: Samantha Beem and Talon Jones, Sam Perks, John Perks and Roberto Perks, Jack Buffa and Grace Buffa, and great granddaughter, Audrey Compton. He is also survived by his siblings: John Conreux, Michelle (Dale) Bachman and Mark (Patty) Conreux as well as several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Dale Conreux, sisters-in-law, Mary Conreux and Tammy Conreux, nephew, Christopher Conreux and son-in-law, Craig Perks. Please join the family for a memorial visitation from 4:00 p.m. until celebration of life service at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Anyone who wishes to speak about Bob and has a memory or story that they would like to share are welcome to do so.
