Robert Buecker

Robert Edward Buecker, 82, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Gateway Regional Medical Center, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Robert entered the world on October 13, 1943, the cherished son of the late Arthur and Josephine (Buehler) Buecker.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Robert served his country with unwavering honor and dedication. On February 7, 1970, he married the love of his life, Regina Fenn, in Belleville, Illinois—a union that blossomed into 55 beautiful years of partnership, laughter, and unconditional love.

Robert was a true renaissance man—a jack of all trades with a gift for fixing, building, or coaching. Whether it was repairing a broken appliance, DIY home projects or coaching youth soccer and baseball, he approached every task with ingenuity and heart. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life: selling treasures at flea markets, striking up conversations with strangers who quickly became friends, and lending a helping hand to anyone in need. His generosity knew no bounds, and his spirit was magnetic.

Above all, Robert was a devoted family man. His greatest pride was his role as husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He poured love into every moment spent with his family, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and four beloved brothers: Richard, William, Michael, and Joey Buecker.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Regina Buecker of Granite City, IL., loving children, Robert “Rob” (Annette) Buecker II of Belleville, IL., Ronald “Ron” Buecker of Granite City, IL., Rebecca (Joshua) Frizzell of Collinsville, IL., dear brother, Arthur Buecker, proud grandfather to Kenny (Jenny) Buecker, Ryan (Rachel Call) Raetz, Marissa (Sam) Earls, Mary Buecker, Stephen Buecker, Jonathan Frizzell, Tyler Frizzell, Starlyn Frizzell, his cherished great-grandchildren, Carmen Buecker, Carlie Raetz, Simeon Earls, Alora Frizzell and Joey Corrado, many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends.

A graveside service in celebration of Robert’s life will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Army. Service date to be announced.

Memorial donations may be made to the family in Robert’s honor.
