Robert Halford

Robert “Bob” R. Halford, age 89, passed away at 9:50 am on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at his son’s residence with his family by his side.He was born on May 11, 1928 in Alton, the son of the late Ray W. and Georgia G. (Whitten) Halford.  Bob married Polly A. (Butler) on June of 1954 at Brown St. Baptist Church in Alton; she passed away July 23, 2003.Bob was employed as a carpenter for the Amoco Oil Co., retiring in 1992.  He served his country in the United States Army.  Bob enjoyed traveling, hiking in the mountains, was a hard worker and a great carpenter and loved to have fun with his family, friends and will be sadly missed.He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Clayton and Rene Halford of Brighton; two granddaughters, Ashley Halford and Amber Halford; one sister, Glova Williams of Godfrey and two brothers, Jim Halford of Godfrey and Dick Halford of Utah.He is preceded in death by his parents; wife and four brothers, Donald Halford, Bill Halford, Tom Halford and Phil Halford.Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey. Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.An online condolence and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
