Robert “Bob” L. Koehm

Robert “Bob” L. Koehm, loving husband and father, age 87, passed away at 5:08 pm Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Hospital. 

He was born on April 6, 1928 in Greenfield, Illinois the son of Phillip Leo and Mary (McIlhern) Koehm.

He married Pauline M. Vortman on February 21, 1956 in Jacksonville, Illinois. She survives.

Bob was retired from McDonald Douglas, now known as Boeing, Bell Tone hearing aids, and the Vac Shop in Godfrey.  He was a member of the Alton Moose # 951 and the Alton Eagles Lodge #254 FOE where he enjoyed meeting his friends for an occasional beer. Bob enjoyed watching sports, specifically the Cardinal’s, fishing, playing with his dogs and spending time with his family and friends. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sherri Koehm of St. Louis and Terri Koehm of Godfrey; a sister-in-law, Marge Koehm of Greenfield; a cousin, Peggy Lou Sudbrink of Texas; four nephews, Greg Koehm of Anchorage, Alaska, Larry Vortman of  Winchester, Illinois, Lloyd Vortman of Winchester, Illinois and Bruce Vortman of Roodhouse, Illinois.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Willie Koehm and Leo (Roberta) Koehm.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Friday, September 25, 2015 and Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.

An additional visitation will be held from 10 until the time of the funeral service at 11 am on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Greenfield United Methodist Church.

Interment will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Greenfield.

Memorials may be made to Parkinson’s, Alton Eagles Lodge or Greenfield United Methodist Church.
