Robert "Bob" Carlus Echols, 71, died 10:43 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015 at his residence.
Born in Alton, he was the son of Carmen Louise Campbell and James E. Echols. He was raised by Frank Overbeck, whom he knew as 'dad'.
A U.S. Army veteran, he was employed by Mid-West Sanitation before retiring.
He married the former Marla Hazen. She survives.
Surviving are eight sons, Kenny Jackson, Robbie Jackson, Shane Echols, Robert Echols, Clint Echols , Blic Echols and Christopher Echols; four daughters, Carla Price and Melissa Copeand, Anita Kessinger and Sarah Davis; 16 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a sister, Sharon Brannon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Dennis Overbeck.
A Celebration of Life memorial will be held from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Monday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Memorials may be made to the family for expenses.
