Rickey E. Beckwith, 52, passed away 2:19 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born in Alton on April 28, 1964, he was the son of Ernest and Barbara (Flowers) Beckwith of Godfrey.
He had been a laborer for ConAgra Foods for 28 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping but his greatest joy was spending time with family.
On September 7, 1996 in Alton, he married the love of his life, Joy Reeves. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his parents and wife are, Daniel J. Beckwith of Bethalto, Justin D. Edney of South Roxana to whom he was a wonderful father; along with his best friend and brother, Todd E. (Christine) Beckwith of Granite City; sister, Roxanna (Terry) Bynum of Swansea; aunts and uncles, Daniel and Sue Beckwith, Doyle and Viola Beckwith, Joseph and Betty Flowers; several nieces, nephews and cousins; very special friends, Ada and Stacie Allred and Wayne "Cowboy" Thomason.
Preceding him in death were, grandparents, Max and Lois Gallahue; aunts and uncles, William and Charles Flowers, Lawrence, Frank and Jim "Wes" Beckwith, Sylvia, Gertrude, Rhodie and Zora Beckwith; and mother-in-law, Laura (Meletti) Johnson.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. David Bowman will officiate.
Burial will follow in United Methodist Cemetery in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
