Richard Allen Rupe, 83, passed away 6:57 pm, Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at his residence.
Born in Litchfield on February 23, 1935, he was the son of Clinton and Nancy (Briggs) Rupe.
He had worked in the wire mill at Laclede Steel in Alton before retiring. He operated "Rick's Clock Repair" for over 50 years, was involved with the Special Touch Camp and enjoyed fishing and camping.
On March 6, 1954 in Corinth, MS, he married Barbara Streich. She died March 29, 2006. He then married Louise (Hill) Knight on August 26, 2006 in East Alton. She survives.
Surviving also are three daughters, Terry (David) Vieregge of Alton, Sherry (Gary) Stevenson of South Roxana, Rhonda (Ed) Ringering of East Alton; step-son, Matthew Knight of Alton; six grandchildren, Jason (Andrea) Autery, James (Lindee) Autery, Jennifer Pellazari, Justin (Mandy) Stevenson, Jessica (Mike) Roethe, Misty (Sherry) Dixon; 12 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and brother, Paul (Leah) Rupe in Nevada.
His parents; first wife, and a sister, Doris Rupe preceded in death.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 7 pm, Monday, October 29, at Word and Spirit Family Church, 5012 Humbert Rd, Alton, IL 62002. Pastors David Prosser and Timothy Keller will officiate.
