Rhonda Ontis

Rhonda Jane Ontis, 75, of East Alton, IL, passed away Friday, May 29, 2026 leaving behind a family and community who loved her deeply.

Rhonda was strong, fun, caring, loving, and truly one of a kind. She lived life with a spirit that inspired those around her — rarely stressing over the small things and always finding ways to enjoy each day. Her laughter, warmth, and unique personality made people feel comfortable, welcomed, and loved.

She had a special ability to bring joy to everyday moments and reminded others to appreciate life as it came. Whether spending time with family, making memories with friends, or simply enjoying the moment, she lived fully and authentically.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roland Hopper Jr. and Rose M. Puckett Hopper, as well as her brother, Richie Hopper.

She is survived by her loving husband, Terry; her daughter, Danielle; her brother, Mark; her nephew, Colin (Ashley), and their children, Issac, Olivia, and Owen; Terry’s sons, Christopher (Nichole) and Nicholas (Laura); Christopher and Nichole’s children, Paige and Caden; Nicholas and Laura’s children, Gavin and Jack; along with many family members and friends who will miss her greatly and cherish her memory forever.

Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her love, strength, and spirit will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.

Plans are currently being made for a celebration of life.
