Retha Wilkinson, age 94, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018, at Eunice Smith Home.
She was born on January 28, 1924 in Leadwood, MO, the daughter of Joseph and Opal (Yount) Black. She married Carl L. Wilkinson on April 20, 1946, in Potosi, MO, and he survives.
Retha was a homemaker who enjoyed singing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband; she is survived by her son Roger (Joyce) Wilkinson of Hartford; a brother, Reldon (Murial) Black of Salem, MO; sister, Sara (James) Wilkinson of Wood River; five grandchildren; Tammy (Rick) Bailie of Rosewood Heights, Sean (Mindy) Wilkinson of S. Roxana, Kristy Wilson of Naperville, Dwaine Wilkinson and his girlfriend Terry Laws of Wood River, and Mike (Minette) Wilson of Bethalto; eight great-grandchildren, Ashley (Ceb) Butcher, Andrew (Kylie) Wilkinson, Sean Wilkinson, Heather (Kevin) Barnes, Breana Wilkinson and boyfriend, Sam; Jeff Bailie and girlfriend Kelsie; Dylan Wilson, and Morgan Wilson; thirteen great-great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Bradyn, Dakota, Kelly, Wyatt, Brantley, Aleah, Reina, Chloe, Bently, Bella, Jada, and Karter; and many other relatives and friends.
Retha is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Elwood Black, and sister, Jewel Higgins.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 8, 2018, from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Ed Smith officiating.
Burial will take place in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
