Reginald Briggs

Reginald “Regi” Briggs, 76, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 11:25 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

He was born April 8, 1949, in East St. Louis, Illinois, the son of the late Raymond “Ray” and Mary (Morris) Briggs. He married Patricia A. (Roberts) Briggs on April, in Granite City and she survives.

Regi retired from Ameren after 27 years of dedicated service as a pipefitter and was a 30 year member of the Pipefitters Local #360. He was a member of the Town and Country Gun Club in Maryville and enjoyed his days of fishing. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by three daughters, Amanda Meyer of Granite City, Andrea Valencia of Granite City, Carrie Creek of Alexander, Arkansas; two stepsons, Michael Heatherly and his girlfriend, Denise Smith and Scott Heatherly and his wife, Kris Heatherly of Granite City; eleven grandchildren, McKenzie, Mason, Maddox, Madison, Mia, Marleigh, Avery, Aiden, Dillon, Richard and Emmy; four nieces, DeeDee, Christine, Rachel, Kimberly; other extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Rayleen and Eddie Boone.

In celebration of his life, a memorial visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Tri-City Assembly of God Church, 3400 Maryville Road in Granite City, IL., with the memorial service at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Barry Shepherd officiating, followed by a luncheon/visitation until 3:00 p.m. at the church.

Memorials may be made to Tri-City Assembly of God. Donations will be accepted at the church.
