Raymond Lee Ferguson, 74, passed away July 19, 2026 at SSM DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, MO.
Born July 15, 1952 in Alton, he was the son of Cleo Raymond "Whitey" and Adeline (Griggs) Ferguson.
A U.S. Army Viet Nam veteran, he had worked as a laborer out of Labor Local 338 for over 20 years before retiring.
On August 3, 1985 in Bethalto, he was married to Alice Hanner. She survives.
Surviving also are two sons, James (Melissa) Tankersley of Hartford, Joseph (Jennifer) Tankersley of East Alton; daughter, Amber Tankersley of East Alton; 11 grandchildren, three of which were raised as his own children, Abigail Lee, William, and Annabelle; and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, James "Jim", Leonard, and Greg Ferguson.
Visitation will be from 11 am until 1 pm, Sunday, July 26 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Private service and burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
