Randy Pace, age 79, passed away peacefully at Alton Memorial Hospital, on May 15th 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.
Randy proudly served in the U.S. Army for four years, where he served in the Vietnam War and earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Expert Badge Rifle.
Randy spent most of his career working at Roberts Motors, later in life he worked at Dugger Swimming Pools. He was known for his thorough knowledge of baseball, and enthusiasm for the Saint Louis Cardinals. Randy never knew a stranger and those who were blessed to meet him remember his kind nature, humor, and his warm and steady presence.
Randy’s happiest moments were spent with his friends and family, whether that involved watching meteor showers under the night sky, looking for bald eagles along the Mississippi River, or watching hummingbirds in his backyard. Randy’s love for his grandchildren was unmatched and he loved to show his support by going to baseball games, trap shooting competitions, and marching band performances.
Randy is survived by his wife Christine Pace, his four siblings, Linda (Daniel) Kreitner, Roger (Karen) Pace, David (Linda Sue) Pace, and Annette (Brad) Bartow, his four daughters, Tammy (Scott) Wernsman, Lisa Pace, Debbie Pace, and Julie (Bill) Goodman, five grandchildren, Andrew Mikulay, Adam Milkulay, Trevor (Jade) Goodman, Emily Goodman, and Amber Goodman, and three great-grandchildren, Athena Howard, McKenna Howard, and Paisley Goodman. Randy also had many friends, nieces, and nephews that he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his father John William Pace and mother Lillian Doris Pace.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026 from 11am until time of Funeral Service at 2pm, at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey. Burial will take place at Jefferson Barracks Natl. Cemetery in St. Louis, MO on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 12:30pm.
