Ramona J. Fay, 83, of Bethalto, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Jersey Community Hospital.
She was born June 30, 1940 in Alton, the daughter of William "Bill" and Arline More (formerly Matthews). Ramona married Melvin "Big Guy" Fay on September 4, 1959 in Wood River at the Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on January 4, 2021.
Ramona worked as a secretary at Scheffel Accounting Firm. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing Bingo, reading, and drinking coffee. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ramona is survived by her son, Matt Fay and Karen Cairns of Bethalto; four grandchildren, Marisa (Brandon) Smith, Marc (Aubrey) Fay, Alyssa (Joel) Calan and Kirsten (Jared) Manley; and five great-grandchildren, Thalia, Emilio, Luke, Emma, and Brynlee.
In addition to her parents and husband, Romona was preceded in death by her brother, Rudy More.
Visitation will be held from 12 pm until time of service at 1 pm on Friday March 8, 2024 at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Burial at Rose Lawn will follow immediately after services. Pastor Terry McKenzie will officiate.
