Ralph H. Von Bergen, 86, died at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Eunice Smith in Alton.
He was born February 9, 1932 in Foster Township the son of the late Oscar and Ruth (Cousins) Von Bergen. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of Abundant Life Community Church in Alton. He retired from Blue Cross of Missouri where he worked in the data processing department.
On January 27, 1933 in Alton he married Vivian (Foster) and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Darrell Von Bergen (Joanna) of Savage, MN and David Von Bergen (Susan) of Alton, four grandchildren, David J. Von Bergen, Jennifer Von Bergen, Ryan Von Bergen and Amanda McColl and two great grandchildren, Lincoln McColl and Riley McColl.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Von Bergen, John Von Bergen and two sisters, Alvina O’Boyle and Lois Sterling.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2018 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton with Reverend Roy Rhodes officiating.
Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
