Ralph Test

Ralph Edward Test was born April 7, 1940 to his parents Ralph and Irene Test. He had two sisters Mary Margaret and Carol Jean.

He married his true love (Elinor Joanne Meyers) on February 14, 1960. They were married 56 years and their love/commitment is an inspiration to many.

He and Jo raised 2 daughters Kim Schultz (John Schultz) and Lisa Schuenke; 4 grandkids (Kaity Schultz (Dodson McPherson), John Schultz (Marlee Schultz), Jake Schuenke, and Kayla Schuenke); and thousands of students/athletes. To some very special people, Ed went by "Uncle Ed." These people held a special place in Ed's heart.

Many people influenced Ed during his early years. One person was Mrs. Merle Paisley Vann, "Grandma Merle" to Kim and Lisa.

On Wednesday, November 2, 2016 he went to be with what he called  "the Real Head Coach."

We were able to keep Dad comfortable during his illness and be with him at home because of the help of dear dear family and friends Bill & Kathy Breden, Ken & Mary Schell, Chris & Kerry Skinner, Jamie Gorman, Bob Crawford, Chris Hayes, Cindy & Richard Utley, Lisa Kolkneyer , and Ed's grandkids. We were able to reconnect with loved ones and close friends from days gone by.

Thank you to everyone for your prayers, stories, memories, and offers of support.

During these past 12 weeks, Dad didn't hesitate to point his finger & scold us. He often said "work on your forgiveness."

From Ed:

Life is short and goes by quickly. Stop the bickering. Stop the criticism & judging of eqaach other. God made us all different and be thankful He did. Accept each other - including our differing beliefs & opinions. And BE KIND. Please.

To Team Coach Test -- you are our family and we thank you for traveling this heart breaking road with us and sticking close to us. Words can never express the joy your stories have brought to Ed, Jo, and the family.

As Ed said goodbye to a loved one, they exchanged a hug and shed tears, Ed said, "You have to go. Go make a difference".

Ed was honored at a private ceremony on Saturday November 5 2016 at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. The Rev. James Edison, a chaplain with Blessing Hospice, officiated.

A Celebration of Life will held on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jerseyville. All family and friends are encouraged to attend and share some of their fondest memories of him with his family.

In lieu of any flowers and plants or other tokens of sympathy, memorials would be greatly appreciated to a Scholarship Fund in the name of Edward Test, which will be used for the benefit of students of Jersey Community School District #100, a school system that he so cherished.

Please make all donations checks out to Crawford Funeral Home, and to the funeral home only.

In the words of Ed Test: "Now Go...Go Make A Difference"
