Phyllis “Podge” Pitts, 91, passed away at 12:07am on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born on July 9, 1927, in Alton, the daughter of the late James and Lillian (Dugan) Robertson. She married Kenneth Pitts and he preceded her in death in 2015.
Survivors include three sisters and a brother in law: Judith Cork of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Carol Robertson of Alton, Linda and Richard Ebrey of Alton, three nephews: Alex Gent of Godfrey, Christopher Gent of Godfrey, and Timothy Gent of Wood River.
Podge was formerly employed the co – manager of Alton Bank and Trust.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother: James Robertson and a sister: Sharon Stahlschmidt.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial visitation will be from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Cardinal Glennon.
