Phyllis Jean Drewes, 77, passed away at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
Born Apr. 29, 1939 in Kalamazoo, Mich., she was a daughter of Orville and Dorothy (Dodd) Harden.
Phyllis drove a school bus for Long Bus Co. in DeKalb, Ill. She loved people and would talk to anyone. Her passion was cooking and organizing family gatherings. She collected cook books, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
She married Alfred Joseph Drewes Aug. 21, 1965 in Marseilles, Ill. He survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Dorothy Harden of Granville, Ill.; a son, Kim (Melisa) Harden of Marengo, Ill.; 2 grandchildren, Nichole Eagen of Elmira, N.Y. and Nathan Eagen of DeKalb; 2 great grandchildren, Hannah and Zachary Piper; a sister, Cheri (Carl) Adrian of Granville; a brother, Lenny (Karen) Harden of Mapleton, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
