Phyllis Ann Anderson, 81, of Glen Carbon and formerly of Edwardsville, Illinois passed away at 2:56 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Eden Village in Glen Carbon. She was born May 26, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland, a daughter of the late William Hubert and Adele Christine (Gibson) Lawson. She married Donald Melvin Anderson on September 16, 1961, in Los Alamos, New Mexico and he survives. Phyllis was a loving and devoted homemaker and had also worked as a waitress, school bus driver and a librarian through the years. She was a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Edwardsville and loved sharing the word. She cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Connie Anderson of Edwardsville; three grandchildren and their spouses, Holly and Beau Montgomery of New York, Ashleigh and Micah Barnes of Glen Carbon and Cody and Ariana Anderson of Eureka, Missouri; two great grandchildren, Marleigh and Carter Barnes; two sisters, Katy Brown and Joyce Kinikin of Phoenix, Arizona; nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
In celebration of her life, a memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3825 Blackburn Road in Edwardsville at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024, with Elder Beau Montgomery officiating. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Irwin Chapel of Glen Carbon in charge of arrangements.
