Phyllis A. Brown, 79, died at 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. She was born July 2, 1937 in Hartford, IL the daughter of Philip and Lura (Sumner) Hendricks. She was a long-time member of Abundant Life Community Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, women’s ministries, prayer chain organizer, and communion bread baker. She retired from the Village of Hartford Water Department as a Clerk. She was married to Leslie Brown and he preceded her in death in August 11, 1985. Surviving are two sons; Rob Brown (Renee) of Hartford and Rick Brown (April) of Alton, and Charles Davidson of East Alton whom she considered a son, six grandchildren; Michael Brown, Matthew Brown, Rebecca Smith (Michael), Mark Brown, Noah Brown and Amanda Brown, and Charles’ children: Tony Davidson (Francesca) and Amanda Davidson (Brody) and their son, Hudson Henningsgard, one brother; Charles “Charlie” Hendricks (Shirley) of Hartford. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Abundant Life Community Church in Alton where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2016 with Reverend Roy Rhodes Officiating.
