Peter Klaus Emil Puetzmann, 70, passed away at 2:23 pm, Monday, April 30, 2012 at Alton Nursing and Rehabilitation.
He was born on May 31, 1941 in Berlin, Germany, the son Ilse (Thiele) and step-father Leo Eugene Smith.
He married Adrienne V. Derry, in Las Vegas, Nevada, May 30, 1986. She precedes him in death.
He was employed with Mead Packaging in Godfrey for 12 years. He then worked for Alton Limousine Service for 9 years. He is a veteran in the U.S. Army, serving four years. He loved to travel.
Peter is survived by five step-children and their spouses; John and Brenda Bamford of Plano, Texas; Gregory Webb of Alton; Neal Webb of Alton; Carol Denison of Tacoma, Washington; Mary Johnson of Normandy, Tennessee; along with 11 step-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Adrienne, his parents, son-in-law Anthony Johnson, step-son Tom Bamford, and brother Billy preceded him in death.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be at 11-1 pm on Thursday May 3, 2012, with funeral services to follow at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL.
Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
