Peggy Sharp

Peggy J. Sharp, 90, of Glen Carbon, Illinois passed away at Anderson Hospital in Maryville at 9:52 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023.  She was born January 22, 1933, in Ullin, Illinois, a daughter of the late Charles and Alta Decoma (Williams) Jameson.  She married Meriten D. Sharp on August 11, 1950, in Granite City and he survives.  Peggy retired as a receptionist from the Lavay Glass Company in Alton after many years of dedicated service.  She was a faithful member of the Temple Baptist Church in Madison and enjoyed her days of spending time decorating, sewing and working in her yard.  She cherished her family and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.  In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Merida and Richard Wilkiewicz of Ft. Worth, Texas and Sherry Sharp of Caseyville; a son and daughter-in-law, Tyrone and Brenda Jameson of Dexter, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Jackie Sharp of Glen Carbon; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; other extended family and friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Keith Sharp and a sister, Donna Shelton.
