Pauline Wells, 72, went to be with the Lord at 3:41 am Friday, October 8, 2010 at Christian Hospital Northeast in St. Louis, MO.
She was born on June 1, 1938 in Bel Ridge, MO, the daughter of Elmer & Lucille (Wilkerson) Callahan.
She married Jimmy S. Wells on August 22, 1978. He survives and they just celebrated 32 years of marriage.
Pauline was a homemaker. She was a member of the Flowing River Church of God in East Alton. She enjoyed crafts, playing the organ, camping, cooking and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children and their spouses, Barbara & Jim Wright of Edwardsville, Carl & Marialuz Bandy of Granite City and Tammy & Greg Richards of East Alton; three stepchildren and their spouses, Jimmy S. & Karen Wells of Collinsville, JoEtta Lynn& Tim Sykes of Collinsville and Tanya & Chuck Daughtery of Wood River; twenty grandchildren; five great grandchildren; her siblings, Goldie Helms of O’Fallon, MO, Wilma Oakley and Sue Nordeen of Lindsborg, KS, Jack Callahan of OK, Linda Boerckel of Litchfield, Lu Jacob of Lee’s Summit, MO and Debbie Davis of Swansea, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers.
Visitation will be at 4 to 8 pm on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am on Monday, October 11, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Kenneth Dickerson officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
