Paul Herman Meyer, 65, passed away unexpectedly at 9:25 a.m., Monday, February 12, 2024 at his residence.
He was born in Alton, Illinois on January 7, 1959 and was the son of Anthony and Mary (Mourning) Meyer.
Paul grew up in Jerseyville, where he graduated with the Class of 1977 from Jersey Community High School.
He began his working career as a custodian at the Flour Mill in Alton, Illinois, prior to pursuing a career in trucking. He started as an over the road truck driver with Sam Tanksley, prior to accepting employment with Hansen Trucking in Jerseyville, where he has remained for the past 35 years.
Surviving are three sisters, Ruth Meyer of Alton, Margie Witt of Jerseyville and Doris (John) Ribble of Jerseyville; four nieces and a nephew, Jennifer (Donald) Mensik, Jackie (John) Iovinelli, Jamie (Nathan) Loellke, Janet (Erik) Thompson and Tony (Amanda) Witt.
He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Meyer; his mother, Mary Seals; a sister, Ann Goza; as well as a brother in-law, Rodney Witt.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
