Paul J. Webb, 85, died at 7:35 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton. He was born March 10, 1931 in Alton, the son of the late Paul D. and Norma K. (Kyle) Webb. Paul was a Korean War veteran who served in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Bataan and the U.S.S. Hornet. He was a boiler operator for McDonnell Douglas for 36 years retiring in 1993. He enjoyed flying and golfing and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Alton. He served as a worker in the St. Louis, Missouri temple for 18 years. On September 2, 1958 he married Marilyn (Stinebaker) and she survives. Also surviving are one daughter; Kay Ayres (Carl) of Tallahassee, FL and two sons; Bryan D. Webb (Maria) of Collinsville and Mark E. Webb (Tracey) of Sandy, Utah, thirteen grandchildren; Kelly Lile, Maxx Webb, Brooke Webb, Erica Webb, Lauren Webb, Derek Webb, Collin Webb, Ryan Webb, Jeannie Carnes, Jeffrey Gonzalez, Isaac Gonzalez, Andrew Gonzalez and Jared Gardner, nine great grandchildren; Josiah Lile, Mason Fuimaono, Sophia Stucker, Olivia Stucker, Genevieve Gardner, Elijah Gardner, Emmeline Gardner, Zane Gardner and Asher Gardner and one sister; Agnes Wegescheide of Alton. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Alton with Bishop Stan Eddington officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey with full military honors by VFW Post 1308. Memorials may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Missionary Fund or the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
