Paul G. Perica, age 82 of Godfrey died on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at his residence.
He was born in Alton on January 22, 1936 the son of the late Peter and Mary (Barach) Perica Sr.
Paul worked for Amoco Oil in Wood River and also was a retired jailer for the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. He was a former member of the US Naval Reserves, a big St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan, enjoyed movies and was an avid golfer.
He married the former Patricia (Phelan) of Godfrey and she survives.
Also surviving are a step son; Pete Moore (Kristen) of St. Peters, MO, grandchildren; Andrew and Addison Moore, one sister; Mildred Vogelsang of Godfrey, two brothers; Ray Perica (Sue) of Lakeland, FL and Ken Perica (Ellen) of Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a brother; Peter Perica Jr.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Friday, December 7, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.
Burial will be private at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethatlo.
Memorials may be given to the 5A’s or St. Jude’s Hospital.
