Paul E. Osborne, 86, passed away 11:14 a.m., Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at his residence.
Born in Alton on April 16, 1939, he was the son of Raymond D. and Agnes M. (Sheradon) Osborne.
He had worked as a lineman for Illinois Bell Telephone for over 40 years before retiring in 2001.On November 19, 1960 in Alton, he married Carolyn "Kay" Winterberger. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Mark ( Terri) Osborne of Washington state, Scott (Vicki) Osborne of Wood River; daughter, Paula Vanderpool of Gravett, AR; nine grandchildren, Sam, Cassandra, Jayson, Jacob, Caleb, Joshua, Ethan, Christiana and Alexandria; brother, Gary Osborne of Godfrey; three sisters, Rita Rae of Godfrey, Martha Kay Lucas and Linda Nichols both of Alton.
His parents and son, Benjamin Osborne preceded in death.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, July 28 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wood River. Pastor George Gude will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
5 A's Animal Shelter has been designated as memorial.
