Paul Drake

Paul E. Drake, age 86, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton while under the care of BJC Hospice.

 

He was born on September 11, 1927 in Flora, IL, son of the late Durland A. & Naomi M. (Kinnaman) Drake.

Paul served his country in the U. S. Army as  a Corporal during the Korean Conflict.  He received his bachelors of Science from Shurtleff College in 1949. He was a Charter Member of Community Christian Church in Alton where he was proud to be a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher.

He is survived by his sister and her husband, Ellie (Eleanor) & Charles Dralle of Alton; one step-sister and her husband, Alice & George Schaller; sister-in-law, Connie Drake; two nephews and their spouses, Robert & Carolyn Drake and William & Mary Jo Drake; one niece and her husband, Andrea & Dave Dipazo; five great nephews, Christopher, Bryan, Andrew and Daniel Drake and Drew Dipazo and two great-great nephews and two great-great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant brother, James M. Drake and brother, Robert D. Drake

Visitation will be from 10 am until time of funeral service at 12 noon on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Community Christian Church in Alton with Pastor Dave Burger officiating.

Graveside services will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Flora, IL at 11 am on Thursday, April 17, 2014 with full military rites being preformed by the Flora American Legion.

Memorials may be made to Community Christian Church in Alton.
