Patsy Caffery

Patsy Jean Caffery, age 78, peacefully entered the awaiting arms of her Savior at 1:56 pm on Friday, June 5, 2026, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born on June 29, 1947, in Granite City, IL, the daughter of Oral Eugene and Evelene (Crouch) Davis.

Patsy married James Joseph Caffery on August 27, 1965, in Bethalto and he preceded her in death on May 28, 2024.

Patsy enjoyed crocheting, diamond art, sewing clothes, and most any type of crafting. She loved going camping. Patsy will be remembered for her love of singing. She took great joy in raising her children. Patsy returned to the work force after they grew up and worked as a CNA at Alton Memorial Hospital and St. Anthony's Health Care for many years.

Patsy is survived by three children and their spouses, Rebecca and Jim Wille of Alton, Jim and Jenny Caffery of Cincinnati, OH, and Chris and Jenifer Caffery of New Smyrna Beach, FL; two sisters, Betty Wecker and Sandra Piening; nine grandchildren, Miranda and Dan Collins, Suzanne and Justin Heiney, Jericho Caffery, Sophia Caffery, Abigail Wille, Cullen Caffery, Joy Caffery, Jenesis Caffery, and Justice Caffery; six great-grandchildren, Alyssa Collins, Lucas Collins, Liam Collins, Elliot Heiney, Owen Collins, Emmett Heiney, and two on the way.

In addition to her husband, Jim, Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, and a granddaughter, Journey Cadence Caffery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, IL.

Burial will take place in the Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
