Patricia Shackelford, 84, passed away December 30, 2020 at Silverstone Place in Rolla, MO.
Patsy was born April 18, 1936 in the Lincoln Place community of Granite City, the daughter of William and Stella (Rudnicki) Fedorchak.
She graduated Granite City High School in 1954, then married Kenneth Shackelford on March 3, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He died in 1973. They had four children, Linda Shackelford (Mike Diver), Kathy (Troy) Duncan, Dan (Kim) Shackelford, John (Carole) Shackelford.
Widowed at a young age, Pat raised the children on her own. She was able to keep them all safe while maintaining a loving, warm environment - doing it all on a secretary's salary. Through hard work and sacrifice, she was able to keep her family together while still finding ways to make fun occasions and go on vacations. Her children will be forever grateful for her love and support.
Pat became a medical staff secretary at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Granite City in 1971, working there until her retirement. In 1977, Pat moved her family to North St. Louis County and in 1982, she graduated from Lindenwood University with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration.
She is survived by her four children; 10 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; sister, Gloria Broadway; brothers, William (Paulette) Fedorchak, Jr., Ron (Elaine) Fedorchak; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Private family services and burial will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville. Father Donald Wolford will officiate.
