Patricia Louise Vaughn, 81, passed away 3:40 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2017 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born in Alton on August 13, 1935, she was the daughter of Robert and Grace E. (Weese) Walker.
On March 10, 1957 in Wood River, she married James A. Vaughn, Jr. He died September 23, 2002.
She was a teacher in the Bethalto School District for 33 years before retiring in 2002. She served on the Bethalto Library Board and was a member of Cornerstone Church.Surviving are a son, Robert Vaughn; daughter, Sharon Vaughn; four grandchildren, Rachel, Sherah, Josh and Seth; and four great grandchildren, James, Anthony, Steven and Adriana.
Preceding in death were her parents; husband; son, Jeffrey D. Vaughn; daughter, Pam Buerster; and sister, Roberta Reed.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 11, in the chapel at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Revs. Mike Vaughn and Eric Scottberg will officiate.
