Patricia L. Wolff, 72, died after a brief illness on March 27, 2018, surrounded and comforted by her husband and children.
She was born on October 17, 1945 in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of the late Cletus and Betty (Danneman) Henkhaus of Godfrey, she survives.
Patricia was the second oldest of eight children. Surviving brothers and sisters are Victor (Ann) Henkhaus of Wood River, Susan (Robert) Higgins of Brentwood, Tennessee, Joseph Henkhaus of Godfrey, David (Teri) Henkhaus of Godfrey, Christopher (Julie) Henkhaus of Oxford, Mississippi and Mary (Andy) Harshbarger of Godfrey. A brother Dan Henkhaus preceded her in death.
She married Jay A. Wolff at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Alton on September 10, 1966. Together with her husband, she raised five children and lived in Alton almost all of her married life, having recently moved to Wood River.
Patricia dedicated her life to caring lovingly for her family, extended family and others.
Surviving are her five children, Lisa (Brian) Scheffel of Fosterburg, David (Anne) Wolff of Edwardsville, Matthew (Monica) Wolff of Godfrey, Julie (Scott) Cheek of Wood River, and Michael (Katie) Wolff of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri.
Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren, Danielle, Natalie, Ashley Scheffel; Brendan, Jacob, Emily and Tyler Wolff; Brooke, Nathaniel and Trentan Wolff; Kane, Brady, Drew, and Luke Cheek; Michael, Carly, Hadley, Josephine, and Eleanor Wolff; and one great grandchild, Logan Scheffel.
Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. Nick Warner, a nephew preceded her in death.
A prayer service will begin at 4:30 pm followed by visitation until 8:00 pm on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. Father Jeremy Paulin, O.M.V will officiate. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
