Patricia Koniak

Patricia Margaret Robertson-Koniak, 82, of Godfrey, Illinois passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025. She was born on February 3, 1943 in Edinburgh, Scotland. 

She was the daughter of James Kearnan and Mary (Barclay). On May 15, 1981 she married William R. Koniak and he survives.

Patrica was a devout Catholic and member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Early in her life, Patricia was previously married and blessed with her four children. Patricia spent her life caring for others in many ways; as a nurse at Alton Mental Health Center for 25 years and a loving foster parent for over 50 years. She touched too many lives to even begin to count. She dedicated much of her life to volunteering for children’s charities. Above all, her grandchildren were the center of her life and her greatest joy.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents James and Mary Kearnan and her brother Frankie Kearnan. Patrica is survived by her husband of 44 years, William R. Koniak; her children Deborah Walsh (Thomas) of Alton, Heather Fairburn (Richard) of Canton, IL, Alan Robertson (Cyndi) of Alton, Scott Robertson (Cindy) of Alton; grandchildren Kelsey Fischer (Christopher), Lauren Walsh, Kiley Groves (Blake), Katie Herndon, Samantha Robertson (James Biggs), Andrew Robertson and a great-grandchild Rory Groves.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am until a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am on Wednesday November 26, 2025. Father Jorge Sanchez will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Alton. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Boys and Girls Club of Alton. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
