Patricia Hose
East Saint Louis | Save
Patricia Ann Hose, age 86, of Ozark, MO, born April 3, 1939, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Sunterra Springs Nursing Facility, Springfield, MO.
Pat grew up in Millstadt, IL, graduated from Belleville High School West, and Parks and Belleville Area Colleges. Pat worked over the years as a bakery helper, civil service stenographer, retail saleswoman, and day care worker, as well as providing childcare for many of her grandchildren. Pat read for the blind over the radio at Our Lady of the Snows, volunteered as a Belleville West Band Mom, and enjoyed traveling with her husband before and after his retirement. Most notably, over her lifetime Pat opened her heart by using her hands to crochet hundreds of afghans, baby blankets, scarves, sweaters, and numerous other items - many of which she donated, including bonnets and booties for premature babies, and hats and scarves for the homeless.
Pat married Andrew Frank Hose of Dupo, IL in July of 1962. The couple moved to the Signal Hill area in Belleville in 1970 and enjoyed 47 years of marriage until his passing in 2009, after which Pat lived with each of her children, lastly with her son Carl, with whom she shared a home in Ozark, MO for 7 years.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew; her parents, Arthur and Irene (née Pfeffer) Mauck; a sister, Estelle (Bruce) Agne; a brother, Arthur Mauck, Jr.; a brother-in-law, David Hose; a son-in-law, Jerry Miller; and a step-grandson, Dave Callan.
