Patricia Ann “Patty” Cairns, 73, died at 4:50 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at her residence. She was born November 4, 1952 in St. Louis, MO the daughter of the late James and Ruth (Hutchcraft) Redman.
Patty worked for the Social Security Administration for 34 years. After retirement she worked for Kassin & Carrow Attorneys at Law and Rick Gibson Attorney at Law, she also volunteered at the 5A’s Animal Shelter Thrift Shop.
On July 15, 1972 she married Wayne L. Cairns and they spent 53 wonderful years together. Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Mindy Strack (Tim) of Wood River, Amanda Gable (Eric) of Medora and four grandchildren, Josie Strack, Nolan Strack, Jackson Ellis-Gable, and Hudson Gable.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Piasa, IL. Charles Lindquist and Mt. Zion Baptist Church Pastor John Shelton will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the 5A’s Animal Shelter or St. Mary’s Catholic School.
