Otis C. Lewis, Sr., 68 departed this life Tuesday, October 2, 2103 at Saint Anthony’s Health Center.  Otis “Big O” was born April 13, 1945 in Webb, MS to the Lillian (Lewis) Embrey and the late James Embrey.He graduated from Alton Senior High School and attended Coffeeville Kansas Comm. College. He was a true athlete and excelled and enjoyed most sports: Football, Basketball, Disk Throw, Track and field, and Pole Vault just to name a few.  Otis accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Webster Temple.  He retired from Owens Illinois Glass in the mold and pattern shops  for over 30 years.August 12, 1968 Mr. Lewis married the former Margaret Davenport in East Saint Louis; 5 children were born to this union.He leaves to cherish fond memories: his mother, Lillian Embrey; wife, Margaret Lewis; 5 children, Stephanie Rochelle (Shelly) Lewis, Derrick Lemont Lewis, Kimbala Lavette Lewis, Sha R`on and Rena` Lewis; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Trudy (Kirk) Buster, Sherri (Theron)Mason, and Maud Dean Spears Ewing; 4 brothers, John Spears, Larry(Treyce)Spears, Torance Henderson, and Lamond(Nabila)Embrey; a special aunt, Annie Mae Lewis, best friend, Kevin Gerhardt; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins , and friends..In addition to his father, he was preceded indeath by 2 granddauaghters, Xanisha Pope and Kimbala Pope; 2 brothers, Gerald Rogers “Bulley”Embrey and James Embrey, Jr.; a sister, Brenda Embrey Shaw; 2 uncles, Pastor  George Lewis and A.C. Lewis; a special aunt and uncle, Annie and Peter Gant; Grandparents, James Monroe, Maudie “MaMa Lou”Lewis; and a grandmother Alice “Big Momma” Dixon; an unique aunt, Gertrude Williams.Visitation will convene Friday, October 11, 2013 from 10 until time of service at 11:00 a.m at Deliverance Temple Complex.  Dr. Gregory L. Harrison wil officiate and Bishop Samuel E. White will eulogize.  Interment will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.  Guest signature and condolences can be registered at
