Oma Winders Oma Lee Winders, age 89, went to be with the Lord at 9:01 pm on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon, IL.She was born March 15, 1928, in Batchtown, the daughter of the late Walter Lee & Katherine (Eilerman) Behnen.  She married Herman Winders on May 7, 1954 in Alton.  He passed away on January 5, 2012.Oma was employed at Olin Corp as a Secretary for many years.  She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto and one of the 1st members of the Goldenaires Club. Oma enjoyed traveling the U.S. including Alaska and Hawaii, sewing, going to the senior citizen center where she loved to line dance, cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals and spending time with her family and friends.She is survived by her three daughters and son-in-laws, Barbara Kay (Steven) Wonnacott of Belleville, Susan Elaine (Noel) Wright of Bethalto and Carol Jean (Joseph) Ingram of Bend, OR; four grandchildren, Nolan (Shana) Wright, Mark (Janis) Wonnacott, Emily (Jonathan) Stanley and Erin (John) Peebles; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Behnen of Staunton and Gusta Winders of Catlin, IL and numerous nephews and nieces.Preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Eva Marie Witcher and one brother, Wayne Edwin Behnen.Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.Visitation will continue from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto on Thursday, March 8, 2018 with Pastor Kale Hanson and Pastor Willard Meyer officiating.  Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, IL.Memorials can be made to American Parkinson’s Disease Association or Zion Lutheran School and Preschool in Bethalto..Online condolences may be left at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com.
