Oliver Woolen

Oliver L. Woolen Sr., 73, of Granite City, IL, born Tuesday, April 8, 1952, in East St Louis, IL, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026 at his residence in Granite City, IL.

Oliver worked as a heavy equipment operator and Security Guard at Our Lady of the Snows. He was a United States Airforce Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his:

  • Second wife: Patsy, nee Engle, Woolen
  • Son: Oliver “Ollie” “Little O” Woolen, Jr.
  • Grandson: Robert Clark, Jr.

  • Brother: Steve Woolen
  • Sister: Debra Tarrant
  • Cousin: Leonard Phipps

Visitation: Visitation from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm, Friday, February 27, 2026 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Illinois.

Services: Service will be held at 12:30 pm, Friday, February 27, 2026 at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Blankley officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery Belleville, IL. Following services, the family invites everyone for food and fellowship at the Collinsville American Legion.
