Olga Pohlmann, 96, completed her earthly journey on Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon.She was born in Wentzville, MO, on July 15, 1920, the youngest daughter of Fred and Lydia (Wefel) Kammeier.She became a child of God through baptism and was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wentzville, MO. Olga married Lawrence Pohlmann at that same church on August 10, 1941. He preceded her in death on May 30, 2008.Her life as a Lutheran teacher’s wife took her to Wisconsin, Michigan, and Illinois before she and Lawrence retired in Bethalto. She served her church and community through participation in various organizations, providing support to those in need, and volunteering whenever needed. For years she canvassed door-to-door raising funds for the Cancer Foundation. Olga kept busy with sewing and quilting for World Relief, crafting, garage sales, gardening and canning. She loved working word puzzles, playing solitaire, and playing games with her grandchildren. She supplemented the family income when she could; picking strawberries, cleaning houses, selling Fuller Brush, conducting Gallop polls, and caring for the elderly.Olga is survived by her children, Larry and Janet Pohlmann of Flat Rock, North Carolina, Amy and Bill Meyer, of Hamel, Illinois, and Anita and Jerome Radowski, of Lebanon, Illinois; grandchildren, Nicole and Tom Stumpf, Julie and Aaron Fish, Billie and Guy Robinson, Gwen and Mark Wirth, Michael Ashauer; great grandchildren, Ethan, Morgan, and Peyton Ashauer, Hannah and Hailey Stumpf, Meila and Willow Robinson, and Gabriel Fish. Also surviving is sister-in-law, Gertrude Glaser, and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband, Lawrence, she was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Vera, Florence, Lilly and Rosa; and granddaughter, Jennifer Meyer-AshauerVisitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 9, 2016, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Cottage Hills with Pastor Martin Schultz officiating.Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.Memorials may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church in Cottage Hill and Bethesda Lutheran Home in Watertown, Wisconsin.Online condolences and guestbook may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
