Odis G. Venable Jr., 66, of St. Louis, Missouri and formerly of Granite City and Caseyville, Illinois passed away at his home on November 25, 2018.
He was born June 26, 1952 in St. Louis, a son of Marline F. (Lee) Venable of Granite City and the late Odis G. Venable Sr. He had worked in the steel industry with years of service as an iron worker. He had proudly served his country with the United States Army and enjoyed his days of hunting and fishing.
He is survived by three sons, Brian Meyer of Caseyville, Harley Venable of South Carolina and Josh Venable of South Carolina; six grandchildren, Molly and Kayla Meyer, Joshua and Joseph Venable and Brayden and Destiny Venable; a brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Patty Venable of Granite City; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Darlene Dagon of Pontoon Beach, Illinois, Debra Hendrickson of Granite City, Betty Lou Hollow of Granite City, Joann and Joe Muyleart of Granite City and Mary and John Huddleston of Louisiana; special nieces and nephew, Tonya and Jeremy Turner and Honesty Gibson; several other nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
In celebration of his life, cremation rites will be accorded and a service will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with full military honors.
Memorials may be made to the family and may be accepted at the funeral home.
