Odessa Marie Denny, 81, passed away 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2014 at her residence.
Born in Nebo on August 10, 1933, she was the daughter of Ray and Dona B. (Howland) Lansdon.
She had worked as a machine operator for Olin, 34 years before retiring in 1996.
On April 28, 1951 in Pike County, she married Fred Denny, Jr. He died February 5, 2000.
Surviving are three sons, Fred A. (Cindy) Dennt, Phillip E. Denny (Gina Baker), Michael R. (Lisa) Denny; three daughters, Judith L. Metheny, Karen S. Dale, Theresa A. (Kevin) Schneider; 19 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a brother, Larry (Connie) Lansdon; three sisters, Sue Ulrich, Inez (Dennis) Kuhn and Wanda Wreath.
Preceding in death were her parents; husband; son, Lawrence R. Denny; five brothers, Harold Tavernier, Lyndle, John, Burdell and Lawrence Lansdon; and a sister, Mary Ann Lansdon.
Visitation will be from noon until time of service at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Rev. Michael Southcombe will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
