Norman Gansz

Norman J. Gansz, 85, of Kampsville passed away April 2, 2018 at 11:05 A.M. at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.

Norman was born July 22, 1932 to the late Carl and Edna (Bland) Gansz. He was a member of both Kampsville and Eldred American Legions, a member of the Cottage Hills VFW, and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kampsville. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked for the Ladue School District in the maintenance department.

He is survived by two sons: Norman Lee Gansz of Wood River and Terry Joseph Gansz of Alton; one daughter, Carla (Jonathan) Carter of Hamel; a stepson, Michael Niswander; a stepdaughter, Tammy Brown of Champaign; a special friend, Carla Branham; and ten grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepson, Michael Niswander.

Visitation will take place Thursday April 5, 2018 at Gress, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin from 5-8 P.M.

Service will take place Friday April 6, 2018 at Gress, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin at 10 A.M. with Pastor Jason Reed Officiating.

Burial will follow at Silver Creek Cemetery in Kampsville with full Military Rites.

Family and Friends will meet at Michael Tavern following the graveside rites.
