Norman Charles Howell, 86, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026 at his home.
Born March 13, 1940 in Alton, he was a son of Harry Charles and Violet Cecile (Ducommun) Howell.
He worked as a journeyman machinist 46 years for Owens-Illinois Machine Shop and was a member of the Bluff City Local #660 Machinist Union in East Alton. He also was a faithful member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Alton.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy (Evans) Howell. They were married June 19, 1965 in Alton. Also surviving are two daughters, Sue Ane (Melvin) Harris of Bethalto and Cynthia Marie (Steve) Woodrum of Henderson, NV; 3 grandchildren, Melissa (Tyler) Walsh, Sonora Woodrum and Erin Woodrum; and two great grandchildren, Amelia and Harrison Walsh.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Howell.
Visitation will be Friday, May 1 at Main Street United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., at which time a procession will leave for Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto for a graveside service.
