Norman H. White, 80, died at 1:10 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born March 19 1935, he was the son of Elmer L. and Eileen (Slaten) White. Mr. White served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brighton. He was an avid fast pitch softball player and member of the 1968 state championship team, the Wood River Chiefs. He retired from Union Local #1 in St. Louis as an insulator. On March 6, 1976 he married the former Debra Page in Godfrey. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters Jenny Rios of Chicago and Lori Hambers of Kansas City, MO, two sons, Kyle White of Chicago and Jay White of Denmark and a step-son Tom Voyles of Bethalto. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a brother Leon White of Phoenix. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Allen White. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Pastor Don Leston will officiate.
