Norma Rummerfield, 97, died at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at her home in North Port, FL.  She was born on September 19, 1922 in New Orleans, LA.  She was the daughter of Frank and Gertrude Caswell. 

She married Ellis Rynders on March 6, 1945.  He preceded her in death on November 24, 1965.

On September 7, 1974, Norma married Charles Rummerfield and they spent many happy years together.  He preceded her in death on May 21, 2008.

Surviving are three daughters, Janice Powers (Thomas) of Lebanon, PA, Judith Kerr of North Port, FL and Jane Woodson of Alton, IL.  She is also survived by two step-daughters, Gayle Platt and Jennifer Wren, along with a daughter in law, Brenda Rynders, plus fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Ellis and Charles, she was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Rynders and David Rynders, son-in-law, Champ Woodson, sister, Pauline Redd and grandson, Paul Rynders.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on January 19, 2020 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.  Father Jerry Wickenhauser will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Florida Compassion Foundation c/o Judy Kerr at Edgewater Church,19190 Cochran Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33948.
