Norma Waggoner Norma Ruth Waggoner, 85, died at 6:18 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Alton Memorial Hospital.  Born November 11, 1930 in Fayette County, IL, she was the daughter of Raymond and Ruth (Stewart) Elam.  Mrs. Waggoner was a homemaker and a very active member of Elm Street Presbyterian Church.  She was also a member of the League of Women Voters, the LIFT Program and the Friends and Neighbors organization.  On July 1, 1950 she married Jack M. Waggoner in Alton.  He preceded her in death on July 3, 2004.  Surviving are three daughters, Joyce McCormick (Jim) of Alton, Janice Gremaud (Paul) of Godfrey, and Laura Schultz (Kevin) of Godfrey, one son, David Waggoner (Becky) of Godfrey, seven grandchildren, Kevin McCormick (Bobbie), Daniel McCormick (Kelly), Jennifer Schneider (Dan), Lisa Velikis (Kyle), Benjamin Waggoner, Jessica Schultz, and Emily Schultz, eight great grandchildren and one on the way.  Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Douglas E. Waggoner and a sister, Noma Gilreath.  Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday August 19, 2016 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016.  Reverend Bill Veith will officiate.  Entombment will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.   Memorials may be made to Elm Street Presbyterian Church.  Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
