Norma L. Taylor, 89, passed away at 6:05 pm Thursday, August 6, 2015 at home with her family by her side.
She was born March 1, 1926 in Fort Worth, TX, the daughter of Issac Frank and Dennie Pauline (Tinsley) Cornelson.
She married Robert F. Taylor on November 28, 1946 in Oklahoma City, OK. They celebrated 39 years of marriage before his death on February 24, 1986.
Norma was a church and private kindergarten teacher at her home church and was a dorm director @ Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, AR. She moved to Bethalto 14 years ago and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bethalto, where she taught Sunday School, worked on the decorating committee and on the kitchen committee and of LIFT. She was an artist and she enjoyed crafts, making greeting cards and gardening.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Rev. Larry Rhodes of Bethalto and Judi and Jim Corwin of El Reno, Oklahoma; four grandchildren and their spouses, Andy and Misty Corwin, Jayci Corwin, Mike and Christine Berger and Teresa and Ben Bothman and seven great grandchildren, Baylee, Bethany, Davis, Tanner, C.J., Samantha and Paige.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Jean Brymer and a brother, Bob Cornelson.
Visitation will be from 10 am until services at 12 Noon Monday, August 10, 2015 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Chip Faulkner and Pastor Larry Rhodes officiating.
Burial will be in El Reno, Oklahoma.
