Norma G. Jestes, age 90, of Edwardsville, Illinois, passed away at 1:45 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2018, at the University Nursing and Rehab Center in Edwardsville.
She was born July 9, 1928, in Edwardsville the daughter of the late Norman & Gladys (Haring) Fields. She worked at SIUE for many years in food service as a cashier.
Norma married C. Howard Jestes on October 25, 1950, at the First Presbyterian Church in Edwardsville. C. Howard Jestes preceded her in death on August 22, 2014.
She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey H. Jestes & wife Monica of Edwardsville, James F. Jestes & wife Thea of Millstadt, Illinois; four grandchildren, Rebecca & Jessica Golden, Shelby Jestes, Geoffrey Jestes; and one sister Betty Hanfelder of South Roxana, Illinois. Norma was also preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Vandeventer.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Edwardsville where she has served as a Deacon, she was also a member of the Edwardsville Moose Lodge 1561. Norma enjoyed working in her yard and garden, doing needle point, crocheting, and spending time with her friend at the donut shop.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 9, at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. John Hembruch officiating.
Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville.
