Norma Keene

Norma Dean Keene, 88, died at 12:25 a.m., Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Willow Rose Rehab & Health Care in Jerseyville.

She was born in Kentucky on May 26, 1927, the daughter of the late Archie & Lala (Ross) Walker.In her early years, Norma was raised in Kentucky until relocating to the Alton area where her father obtained employment in the steel mill.Norma married Ralph William Keene Sr. on Aug. 9, 1946 in Alton, and together they raised their three sons, and shared 61 years together before his death on Aug. 22, 2007.Surviving are her three sons & two daughters in law, Ralph W. Keene Jr. of Fort Worth, Tx., Chester & Mary Jane Keene of Jerseyville, and Patrick & Mary Keene of Orem, Utah; 11 Grandchildren;16 Great Grandchildren; three sisters, Eva Hindman, Nell Volner and Shirley Dooley all of East Alton; along with numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter in law, Margaret "Maggie" Keene; a sister, Charlene Smith; as well as a brother and sister in infancy.Visitation will be from 10 a.m until time of funeral services at 12 noon on Friday, March 4. 2016 at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.  Rev. Alan King will officiate.Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the Activity Department at Willow Rose Rehab & Health Care or to the Blessing Hospice of Greene County.
