Norma Eileen (Jordan) Davis, 92, of Roxana, passed away the evening of Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at her son’s home in Alton while surrounded by family.
Born February 26, 1931 in Portland, ME. She was the daughter of Edward Franklin and Dorothy Eileen (Farwell) Jordan.
Norma married Elmo E. Davis on July 26, 1946 in South Portland, ME. Elmo was a Veteran of the US Navy and retiree of Shell Oil Company. He passed away July 4, 2002.
Norma was a devoted homemaker and had a huge heart for all things family. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, crocheting and game nights with her family. She enjoyed playing pinochle on Thursday’s with her friends at the Edwardsville Senior Citizens Center. Norma was a devoted Cardinal’s fan who loved lighthouses. She was a member of the Wood River Women of the Moose.
Surviving are four children, Glenn and Jo Donna Davis of Alton, Glenda and Richard Corrigan of Wood River, Darrell and Carol Davis of Wood River, Frank and Barb Davis of East Alton; 11 grandchildren, Dawn Nocito of Eau Claire, WI, Steven and Renee Davis of Oxford, MS, Trisha and Derek Ashoff of Saint Jacob, Stefanie and Jeremy Crockett of Cottage Hills, Suzette and Ron Karpan of East Alton, Richie and Brooke Corrigan of Godfrey, Paul Corrigan of Wood River, Craig Corrigan of Roxana, Christina and Gene Neithe of Wood River, Nicole and Jim Hall of Godfrey, Jordan and Patrick Brannon of Wood River; 25 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, Norma was preceded in death by her 4 siblings.
A celebration of Norma’s life will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River. Services will follow at 7:00 with Pastor Michael Eddy officiating.
Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday January 31 at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
