Norma A. Witt, 76, passed away at 5:55 am Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Carlinville Rehab and Health Care Center.
She was born on May 27, 1934 in East Alton, IL, the daughter of Ephraim and Irma (Withrow) Imel.
She married Marion U. Witt on February 1, 1952 in Rosewood Heights, IL. He survives.
Norma with her husband owned and operated Witt Construction and took care of the bookkeeping. She was a member of the Rosewood Heights General Baptist Church. She had a very nurturing spirit which showed in all she did, from raising her children to raising her animals, especially her little piggies. She also loved to cook and take care of her home and her children.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Dana Witt of Bethalto; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Rex Carpenter of Boliver, MO; six grandchildren, Brittany Witt, Ivy Carpenter, Holly Carpenter, Taylor Witt, Jonathan Witt and Joel Witt and a sister, Iona Williams of Carlinville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Donna Brainerd.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral services will be at 10 am on Monday, January 31, 2010 at the funeral home with Pastor Charles West officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
